ARBIL, Iraq, Jan 3 (AFP) - 12h49 - Kurdish chiefs Jalal Talabani and Massoud Barzani held a series of talks with top US civil administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer, and his British deputy, Jeremy Greenstock, Kurdish television said Saturday.
The talks, on "the political process underway in Iraq", began Friday at a hotel near Arbil, 350 kilometres (nearly 220 miles) north of Baghdad, and were still continuing, reported the television channel of Barzani’s Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
The talks also came as members of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistanhad been involved in clashes with Arabs and Turkmen in the northern city of Kirkuk that left at least seven people dead.
For his part, Talabani, who heads the PUK, said the talks yielded "good results," but did not give further details.
