Blair: Iraq war was test case
What a prat. has it ever occured to him that his beloved WMD's have not yet been found? :grr:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3367717.stm

Tony Blair has described the war in Iraq as a "test case" for the handling of countries which possess weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

He said if Britain had backed down from dealing with Iraq, it would have been unable to deal with other rogue states.

"If we had backed away from that, we would never have been able to confront this threat in the other countries where it exists."

3. So this is just a test case....
So all those who died in this immoral war were just a test case.

Imagine, how all those who lost loved ones will feel when they hear or read this.

What is he saying ? "If we had backed away from that, we would never have been able to confront this threat in the other countries where it exists."

Perhaps, Tony should have added the word really.....before exists.

5. umm
"Tony Blair has described the war in Iraq as a "test case" for the handling of countries which possess weapons of mass destruction (WMD)."

Would that include us?

WE have chem/bio weapons.

That WOULD include us.

Oh, wait... republics are in charge. It's the reign of the Republic party.

Spelling is correct. We need to do that to them, too.

When Republics are in charge, hypocrisy reigns.

12. From now on, I refer to Republicans as "Imperials".
It fits them so nicely.

Hey, lurking Freepers - you support a traitor. Deal with it.

6. So
We invaded Iraq not because Iraq had WMD, but because other countries had them, and we wanted to send a message to these other countries.

An interesting new twist. :silly:

8. I've never been so profoundly disappointed in a politician before.
Blair was one of the very few that in my opinion had the ability to lead public out of the darkness. Instead, he behaves like some pathetic marionette and smiles through the lie. He's gone from someone who's public persona was virtually untouchable to that of a tier II con artist.

Sometimes I hope they do find all the wmd's they say are there so that I can go to sleep safe in the knowledge that for the last 3 years I've only been lied to 99.5% of the time. (not really, but you know what I mean).

Everything has become so stage-managed - critical thinking skills are at much more of a premium these days. We're teetering on a very dangerous edge...

10. and our soldiers were guinea pigs? was it a new depleted-uranium test?
can anyone make better sense of that statement... a "test case?" a case where there were no "weaspons of mass destruction" until AFTER WE BOMBED AND SHOT THEM WITH RADIOACTIVE WASTE?

15. Next question: was this a successful test case?
Please select the right answer:

a) No, because we didn't find WMDs, the test should be repeated on other "rogue states".

b) Yes, the test was successful, we can reproduce the results on any other "rogue state".

16. a test case indeed
Test #1: to see if Tony Blair could act against the wishes of a sizeable majority of British citizens and still stay in power. Result: Success!

Test #2: to see if Tony Blair can continue to lie through his teeth about WMDs with no serious repercussions. Result: Success!

18. Unfortunately yes
Blair has a MASSIVE majority in parliament of brownosing sycophantic fools who would vote for the execution of the first born if Phoney B:liar told them to. Blair is safe in his position as "new" labour is certain to win the next election and his party is to craven and cowardly to challenge him. The challenge now in British politics is to build up a progressive alternative to "new" labour. As things currently stand British democracy is in a sickly state.

When all said and done, trying to work out who is better between Blair and Howard is like fussing over the difference between a louse and a flea.
