Bill Bradley Endorses Front - Runner Dean
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 9:32 a.m. ET

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Calling Howard Dean's campaign ``one of the best things to happen to American democracy in decades,'' former Sen. Bill Bradley endorsed the Democratic front-runner on Tuesday and praised his ability to engage voters.

Bradley, who represented New Jersey in the U.S. Senate for 18 years, joined his rival for the 2000 nomination, Al Gore, in supporting Dean among the nine Democrats seeking to challenge President Bush. The endorsement added to the momentum that has carried Dean to the head of the pack.

1. Excellent News!
Both of the leading Democratic contenders in the 2000 selection
(not to mention the winner of the 2000 Election) are now standing
firmly behind Dr. Dean!

Way to go, Doc!

3. Glad the NYT wrote in an unbiased format
for this. Here's Reuters first paragraph on the same story:
"MANCHESTER, N.H. (Reuters) - Democratic presidential front-runner Howard Dean on Tuesday picked up the endorsement of former U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley of New Jersey, the latest party heavyweight to back his insurgent campaign."

Nope. No bias there. *rolls eyes*

As far as the Bradley endorsement, I don't think it's going to do a whole lot but it can't hurt. :)

5. I'm an insurgent, and I'm not ashamed of it.
Somebody needs to wrest control of the party from the weenies who currently run it. Actually, since Sen. Bradley was Al Gore's primary opponent in 2K, it could be interpretted as an attempt at party unity.

10. Could Bradley be the VP choice if Clark turns it down?
Of course, that assumes Dean wins the nomination. Just a thought.

11. Waaaahooooo, congratulations Doctor!
``His campaign offers America new hope,'' Bradley said. ``His supporters are breathing fresh air into the lungs of our democracy. They're revitalizing politics, showing a way to escape the grip of big money and to confront the shame of forgetting those in need.''

12. not bradley for vp
Now, I voted for Bradley in the 2000 primary. I like the guy. But you can't have two Northeastern eggheads on the ticket. And, sorry, but the height difference would just make me giggle!

We need the South to win. It's gotta be someone who appeals there. Dean-Edwards?

I wish Dukakis and Mondale would just get it over with and endorse Dean too. Might as well be unanimous.

On edit: Sorry. Had to go there. I'll support Dean if he wins.

17. I'm ambivalent.
He got more votes, true. I think the election was stolen before the fact. That doesn't mean Gore won it. He lost it. The fact that he was robbed has no practical effect -- although it makes me mad as hell.

unifies Corpocrats and Repukes to do anything to stop him.
