Dollar falls to another euro low
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 04:36 PM by eppur_se_muova
Source: BBC

The dollar has fallen to yet another all-time low against the euro, after further weak US economic data.

Figures showed that US consumer confidence has fallen to a near two-year low, while house prices have seen the sharpest drop in 16 years.

Analysts said the data boosted expectations that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates still further.

In early trading, the euro hit a high of $1.4162, before pulling back to $1.4123 by mid-afternoon in Europe.

2. But wait! This will bring tourists flooding into the country!
Oh, nope, sorry.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Travel industry leaders meeting in Washington Wednesday said they want the U.S. government to stop treating tourists like terrorists, and to take steps to reverse a steep decline in overseas travel to the United States that followed the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Overseas travel to the United States has plummeted 17 percent in the past five years, travel industry officials say. And while a recent surge in travelers from Mexico and Canada has helped the industry rebound, it masks a precipitous and painful drop in travel originating in other countries.

4. I wouldn't come here on vacation
There's no guarantee that you would be allowed to leave...and since we are going to war with Iran, now, you can bet the number of arrests of "spies" will increase sharply.

6. Total bullshit
I have the concealed carry book and the circumstances where you can use your weapon are very very restricted. I was major surprised because I bought into the BS like in the sign you posted before I read it.

9. Florida law SB-436, the "Castle Doctrine" law has only been on
the books since October 1, 2005.

There will be blood in the streets, halloween trick-or-treaters shot in the doorway, electric meter readers blown away ...

Oh wait, it has been two years and nothing has happened.

But what is really happening is American multi-national companies will report earnings in Dollars rather than Euros. This will make the economic numbers look better for little george bush and his administration. A high Euro is just one more opportunity for the republicans to cook the books.

A side benefit is that American vacations do become a little more attractive financially to Europeans. Perhaps they could bring their views of the world here so we might learn something other than what the main stream media is feeding us.

10. Yep
and I am amazed at the propaganda used by the Brady antigun campaign. This is what happens when you stretch the facts this far, no one ends up believing anything you say. They have done that with their campaign.
