Barrie Barlow and Tony Drewitt became Britain's first openly-gay surrogate fathers four years ago. In an interview with London's Channel 4, the couple say they received more than 25 death threats. "Other letters threatened to break our legs and take our kids off us so they can grow up with a straight couple," said Barlow.
They were so concerned for their children's safety that they paid $15,000 for security gates at their school and hired full-time British bodyguards - one armed - to watch over them.
