Bush banks record $120m for his election war chest

PRESIDENT BUSH will today shatter campaign fund-raising records by announcing that he has already banked more than $120 million (£65 million) towards his re-election.

The total dwarfs the efforts of his nine Democrat would-be rivals and puts him well on the way towards significantly beating his stated goal of $170 million.

Mr Bush’s haul is three times as much as his nearest rival, Howard Dean, who has smashed Democrat records to establish himself as frontrunner in the party’s primary process.

The nine Democrats have together raised about $140 million, but they have also been spending their money along the way during the high-stakes, ill-tempered and increasingly fraught contest to select Mr Bush’s opponent.

plus it will make history and attracts loads of postive media attention. Then we have moveon.org and Soros's donations to various voter groups. We'll have plenty of cash too...just wait and see....
