3. Some Republican Senators said to be onboard
Edited on Thu Jan-08-04 11:15 PM by Atman
According to Rep Amann (D)

Update...

Moira Lyons is determining whether to take the recommendation of some members and take impeachment action immediately, or form an investigative committee.

Rep Amann says "some republican members" are backing the idea of impeachment. He seems far more willing to talk about what happened in the caucus than Lyons is.

4. News poll

72% think there should be a recall provision in the CT constitution! I have my Recall Rowland bumper sticker! I think the Wethersfield Town Dem. Committiee has them.

Theres a fascinating interview piece with Bill Curry, the man who ran against Rowland, from the paper 2 weeks ago. You need to subscribe, but its really worth it.

He also rips *.

6. absolutely NOT!
Edited on Thu Jan-08-04 11:27 PM by darboy
no to recall provision. It is the WORST idea in the history of electoral politics. How long will it be before they recall Arnold in CA? (not that I would be personally against that)If CT had a recall, each side would just use it against the other party. Impeachment is a better option.

7. I agree...I hope Lyons has the stuff, though
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 12:06 AM by Atman
She didn't sound impressive at all. Amman was much more fiesty, looking like he was ready to take on Rowland. This guy is so dead-to-rights guilty, if he gets away with that whiny-ass republican "forgive me, I found God!" ploy, though, and she backs down, we need the option of getting rid of him.

I know it is totally contradictory...kind of a NIMBY approach in reverse...I don't like recalls on principle, but sometimes the people really do need recourse. Of course, I am speaking prematurely. Maybe Moira Lyons will do the right thing.

10. He will put his finger in the wind and then resign
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 03:26 PM by yellowcanine
Otherwise no pension, right? Does anyone know whether his pension depends on how he leaves?
He doesn't strike me as the "go down with the ship type."
On edit - I must admit I am biased and am looking at a small sample size. In my experience, Pubbies have always taken the easy way out when the tail was caught in a crack.
