GALLUP: Bush Finally Tops Nixon -- In Unpopularity
Source: E & P/ Gallup Poll

NEW YORK For almost two years, President Bush has been threatening to unseat Richard M. Nixon as the most unpopular president in the history of the Gallup poll, and it finally happened this week.

The latest USA TODAY/Gallup survey finds Bush with a 31% approval rating -- and for the first time ever in the polling history, 50% say they "strongly disapprove" of a president.

The previous high (or low?) was a 48% strong disapproval rating for Nixon at the worst moments of Watergate in 1974.

14. Bullshit! Nixxon was never honest about a damn thing he ever did our touched
Edited on Tue Nov-06-07 04:56 PM by Gman
he was a sorry son-of-a-bitch that for all rights and purposes should never have been born, much less never smothered at birth. Nixon was a thoroughly evil man that surrounded his self with thoroughly evil people, not the least of which was Dick Cheney.

Our problem now is I never, ever thought I would actually wish we had Nixxon back instead of Bush now. OTOH, Nixxon would have killed to have the type of Congress that Bush has had. If he did, history would be far different and this would likely not be a free country for over 30 years.

15. Nah. See Bush is just like Nixon, the difference is that
Bush doesn't hide it...he openly parades his crimes and then tries to justify them.

25. The difference is the complicity of Congress and the MSM...
...which has allowed * to get away with crap Nixon could only dream of. Ultimately, it's our fault, as we continue to squat unquestioningly in front of our TVs, dimly aware that something is wrong, but too complacent to hit the streets and demand change.

20. Nah ... Nixon wasn't trying to run the country into the ground
But that doesn't make him honest.

I have come to believe the Bushistas really, really do intend to tear down what we know as America.

2. Is there a category beyond "strongly disapprove?' of the President?
If so put me down for "despises with unending intensity."

33. There was an official poll
referenced somewhere on DU which IIRC indicated 66% disapprove, 52% strongly disapprove and 28% "angry" (with/of B*sh).

10. Bush has finally succeeded at something......
....failure.

He's now (officially) the #1 worst President in the history of the United States of America. :applause:  41, his crone of a wife, and the rest of the degenerate Bush clan must be SOOOO proud of Little Boots. :sarcasm:

There is one good thing that arises from Georgie's abject failure: the chance of there being another Bush in the White House, at least for the next two generations, are nil. The Bush name will forever be equated with failure, greed, dishonesty, hubris and treachery. Couldn't happen to a nicer family.

Congratulations, Georgie! YOU'RE NUMBER ONE, YOU'RE NUMBER ONE, YOU'RE NUMBER ONE!

18. And the Dem congressional leadership continues to suck the bastard's ass & the idiot's unpopularity
is rubbing off onto the Democratic Party in the public's stated opinion of an impotent congress. The Democrat's were elected to stop the psychopath but they are too chicken shit to thwart the assclown and have instead become enablers.

26. Most of the 31% are the ones who can't admit they were wrong.
About 2% (the rich) actually like *. Some portion are just hate filled people that get off on the misery that * has inflicted on the world. The rest are just stubborn and/or delusional enough to say that they still approve, because otherwise they would have to admit they were wrong in voting for the sorry POS.

Setting a precedent that will NEVER be broken in the future history of this country.
