Former Giuliani protege surrenders to feds (Kerik)
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik turned himself in Friday morning to face arraignment on federal corruption charges, the FBI said.

A federal grand jury's indictment of Kerik will be unsealed today, sources familiar with the investigation said.

Details of the charges were expected to be revealed at an 11:30 a.m. press conference.

Prosecutors had been looking into allegations against Kerik that include bribery and tax evasion, sources said earlier this week.

The indictment comes a year after Kerik pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of financial impropriety.

1. keriklegaltrust.com

Kerik puts out word: I need cash

So have you mailed your check yet to the Bernard Kerik Legal Defense Trust?

Personally, I'm waiting 'til they start accepting PayPal. And with so much of keriklegaltrust.com still "under construction," that could be a while.

You don't think Bernie's waiting for one of those mobbed-up contractors to get the programming done?

NEW YORK, Nov 9 Reuters) - Former New York police commissioner and Rudy Giuliani protege Bernard Kerik was indicted on federal charges including mail fraud, wire fraud and obstructing an investigation, the U.S. attorney said on Friday.

The charges, which will likely pose an embarrassment to Giuliani's bid for the Republican presidential nomination, had been expected after several media reports that a grand jury returned the indictments on Thursday.

not only was it way too late but this is not going anywhere-it bascially takes him out of any real contention for the general election.

Giuliani criticizes Democrats on foreign policy
By KATHLEEN HENNESSEY | Associated Press Writer
10:33 AM EST, November 9, 2007
VEGAS - Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani mocked his Democratic rivals as impractical, billing himself as a realist on foreign policy with experience at the negotiating table.

Giuliani described Democrats as "falling all over themselves" to negotiate quickly and without preconditions with hostile foreign leaders _ a reference to sparring between Democratic candidates Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton over how best to deal with Iran.

~snip~

Giuliani aimed all of his criticism at Democrats, leaving largely unmentioned his Republican foes in the campaign.

He didn't take questions from the media and didn't comment on news that his longtime associate and former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik had been indicted on federal corruption charges.

Kerik was to be arraigned Friday. Giuliani has said he made a mistake in recommending Kerik as head of Homeland Security in 2004.
