Clear Channel Part of Gaming Ads Probe

Clear Channel, Other Media Companies Issued Subpoenas As Part of Probe Into Ads by Gaming Sites

SAN ANTONIO Jan. 9 — Clear Channel Communications Inc. and a number of media companies have been issued subpoenas as a part of a probe into advertising by illegal Internet gaming sites.

The San Antonio-based radio giant received the subpoena in September from federal prosecutors in St. Louis seeking information on commercial advertising aired on behalf of Web-based gambling businesses, including sports bookmaking and casino-style gaming, that are based in other countries.

Clear Channel, which said it is cooperating with federal officials, disclosed information about the subpoena in filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Is the American Public drugged into a state of sleep? Every Corporate Crime leads to more people thinking that if the system's corrupt then maybe I should get into the act, too.

This stuff has to be prosecuted to the MAX. Jails should be emptied of "low level drug offenders" and filled with these Corporate Criminals.

When we start to think that this is the "normal" way for corporations to behave then we are no better than some Banana Republic. (But, then, I guess that's obvious.) It causes a rot from within that could lead to our collapse if we don't get a handle on it.
