US Repatriates 15 From Guantanamo
US Repatriates 15 Guantanamo Prisoners
To Afghanistan, Sudan

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Dec. 12, 2007

(AP) The U.S. announced Wednesday that it has
sent 15 prisoners from the Guantanamo Bay prison
back to their home nations.

The military transferred 13 men to Afghanistan and
two to Sudan, the Department of Defense said in a
statement. Their names were not released.

The U.S. has now transferred about 485 prisoners
to their native countries, where most have been
subsequently released.

There are now about 290 men held at Guantanamo,
most of them without charge. U.S. authorities have
said they plan to prosecute about 80 in military
tribunals at the Navy base in southeast Cuba.
Military officials have said they are in negotiations
with countries to accept dozens of prisoners who
have been cleared for transfer by review panels.

4. They Released Them Because They Realized They Were INNOCENT
It is possible that some of them may be extremely angry now and may act on that anger, but whose fault is that?

3. What would you have the US do?
Keep 'em in Gitmo and people bitch.
Release 'em and people bitch.
Can't win.

Maybe it would've been better if they had been killed on the battlefield.

5. Well, let's see
These are people that more than likely did nothing wrong to start with except for being in Iraq. The US put them in gitmo, maybe a black prison or two, tortured them, deprived them of any sensory information, maybe smashed their balls, degraded them just to name a few.

How do you think they are going to feel? How would you feel? Would you want to be best friends with the people that tortured you? Probably not.

what should the US do? The US should punish those responsible for the torture up to and including this so called president. The US should hold accountable those that started this war of lies. The US should dismantle blackwater. The US should rebuild Iraq. The Us should send it's "leaders" to the Hague.

What do YOU think the Us should do? Just leave these people to rot forever and never let it known that the US has them and has tortured them? Do you think the US should go ahead and bomb Iran now to please this son of a bitch thats in the white House? What do you think?

6. I'd rather the US didn't kidnap and "disappear" people PERIOD.
The rightwingnuts screech about how every person in Gitmo is "the most evil ever!!11!!1!

Yet the US, after applying years of mental anguish & torture onto these people, let them go home. Where they were released.

So gee, guess they weren't really "the most evil ever!!11!!1! after all.

So why did we torture them for years, destroying our reputation in the world which will forver see us as the most hypocritical evil bastards on the planet?

But nope, the rightwingnuts won't bother to reconcile their "the most evil ever".
