Russia's Military Commissions New Batch Of Strategic Nuclear Missiles
Source: Associated Press

MOSCOW (AP) — Continuing U.S. plans to create a ballistic missile shield have prompted the latest response from Russia: the commissioning of a new batch of ICBMs that could penetrate it.

Russian news agencies report the three new Topol-M missiles are capable of hitting targets more than 6,000 miles away and are harder for an enemy to track down because they are mounted on a heavy off-road vehicle.

--
Russia's Strategic Missile Forces issued a statement on the missiles which was carried by Russian news agencies.

The announcement comes amid tensions between Moscow and Washington over U.S. plans for missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic.

1. Wasn't Russia our friends when bu$h took..., errrr, was appointed by the Supreme Court?
And I remember bu$h looking into Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's eyes with great fondness or some such?

Tell me, who are the terrorists again?

4. Putin may be all sorts of things
but he's not a terrorist!

This is Russia baring its teeth, most likely because of the missile defense nonsense or because of Kosovo's 'independence' movement.

It was Bush who withdrew from the ABM treaty early in his first term.

2. And it is true ... Russia has had better launch capability
than USA forever. They put satellites in orbit off of mobile launchers. Why do think we never hear about Russian launches? Maybe cause it's embarrassing.

at best they are the same as the US.

Meanwhile, ILS' other rocket -- the Lockheed Martin Atlas -- has a remarkable record of 78 consecutive successful launches dating back to 1993.

5. Another military build-up to rob the poor and enrich the wealthy.
This cyclic robbery needs to end.

6. Russian military spending
is just over $35 billion/year. To put this in perspective, this is half the cost of the defense spending bill being put through congress.

In contrast, our military industrial complex gets paid about a TRILLION dollars per year. We've spent $5 Trillion on nuclear weapons that we've never used. It brings to mind the old example of John Maynard Keynes being able to create employment by burying money and paying people to dig it up.

I'm just saying, direct the outrage at an appropriate target.

7. Nowhere in my statement was I providing
cover for our military industrial complex and its looting. I suggest you find another target yourself.

8. Russia eliminates America
New missiles? Why?

They have 200 HiTech ICBM
7 stories underground
Each ready to be loaded with 10 nukes.
Pentagon admits we cannot deter them once in flight

Each ICBM destroys a radius of 200 miles.
Two will eliminate North Carolina.
My golf course. Sad.

10. So....ah...,
who didn't see this coming? The current administration thinks it can get away with whatever it wants on the world stage and there will be no consequences.

Lets see how that works out for them....and for us.
