1. Imagine what this figure will be a dozen years from now...
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 03:20 AM by Mr_Jefferson_24
...as the delayed but deadly ravages of depleted uranium exposure become evident -- we'll be looking at 50K plus dead. You can't ingest that shit into your lungs for months on end and then just skip on along your merry way -- it's a death sentence, slow but ever so sure. The first Gulf War has already borne this out, and MSM has dutifully avoided their responsibility to make the American public aware of this unfolding nightmare.

4. Mission Accomplished: Avoided hitting 4,000 during the holiday season
Using to-date casualty figures and that month's rate, projections made at the end of July and August both forecast hitting 4,000 during December - something that would have been a media nightmare for Little George and the freepers.

While thankful that the casualty rate has lessened and happy for the troops (and their families) who at least statistically dodged a bullet, I don't believe in miracles. Is it wrong to suspect that the same administration that paid newscasters to plug No Child Left Behind, hired a Fox News whore as a press secretary and hauled lighting to New Orleans just for a photo-op also did everything it could to avoid this scenario?

6. Plus how many have been permanently maimed and psychologically scarred?
The deaths are horrid enough, but we also now have a generation of thousands of young men and women who will be permanently scarred from Bush's little fucked up adventure for the rest of their lives.

11. I noticed that as well ...
no-one tells the totals anymore....they just state several were killed in a bomb or whatever and move right along. Must not be 'news' anymore. (sarcasm)

10. According to the MSM, the only thing happening in Iraq is that soldiers
are celebrating the holidays and spending their time making videos for their families and opening gifts from home. The surge? It worked. Old news. What deaths? The surge worked and everyone is happy and going about their business. Why, CNN reported on a Baghdad park filled with families having picnics (I swear I heard it).
