U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison is going to Norway
Source: WASHINGTON (AP)

Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, said he's going there to study peace and justice issues. The Minnesota Democrat notes that Norway has played a large role in international peace, even though it has a population of only about 5 million.

Among other things, Norway sponsors the Nobel Peace Prize.

Ellison will be in Norway from Jan. 6-11 during the congressional holiday recess. He'll meet with public officials and members of non-governmental organizations.

Sign of the times. US has to go elsewhere to find out how to wage peace.

5. What's your point?
Is your point that members of Congress shouldn't venture outside the US? Does it make a difference if he's spending a few days in Norway, or going to somewhere in the US?

According to your logic, members of Congress should spend 100% of their time either in DC or in their home districts. This is hardly the first time that a member of Congress has stepped outside the US.

10. I don't think that's what MookieWilson meant at all.
I don't think MookieWilson understood that Congress would be in recess.

3. Maybe he can apologize to Norway's Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, for us, concerning
pResident Bush's flat refusal to meet him when he had scheduled a trip to the U.S. last year or the year before. That was so wierd!

Prime Minister Stoltenberg.

7. I wish I could escape the Televised Iron Curtain of Lies of Imperial Amerika
even if just for a little while.

To Norway or Iceland or anywhere that is free.

I would like to breathe the fresh air of freedom once again and perhaps kiss free ground.
