1. Yeah, I heard that too.
I heard he has a history of depression, tried to kill himself in 2002. It's really sad- that guy's hilarious. I hope he's alright.

3. Here you go:
Police say writer and actor Spalding Gray has been reported missing. Sgt. Michael Wysokowski, a spokesman for the NYPD, says an investigation has begun and police are searching for Gray. No further details have been made public.

The search is ongoing in both New York City, where he has an apartment, and on Long Island, where Gray, 62, has lived with his family for the past few years in North Haven, N.Y. ...

Gray has a history of depression - linked to injuries from a serious car accident in 2001 - and, according to the newspaper, he attempted suicide in 2002. ...

...I didn't know the name, so I couldn't place a face to it, but with your photo, I now know who he is.

Funny guy!

19. Perhaps Gray has figured out a way not to be found -
- upon throwing his ace, duce. I hope I'm wrong and Spalding is found up state.

Severe depression is a terrible thing. At times we all go through a little depression, and it last only for a short time. (Speaking for myself)

11. Swimming to Cambodia is the most incredible, intense...
..."one man show" I've ever seen (directed by the great Jonathan Demme). "Monster in a Box" is another of Spalding Gray's monologue films that isn't to be missed.

Man, I really hope he's okay - he's a brilliant and entertaining guy...

12. I saw him in Northampton
At the Academy of Music, a few years ago...I forget the name of the monologue he did, if it even had one. He was up front about the fact that he was trying out new material for his next project, and that he was experimenting on the audience (but isn't that just what artists do with each performance?) Still, it was a fantastic evening. He just sits there at his desk and tells stories. Described that way, it sounds so boring, but it was not at all...the evening flew by, and you wanted him to continue.

BTW, Spalding was also one of the main characters in the movie in The Killing Fields (did someone already mention this?)
