Video shows raises questions about Bhutto's manner of death

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - Video footage of the assassination of Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto is raising new questions about the government's account of how she died.

The footage shows Bhutto standing in an open-topped vehicle. Her hair and shawl move upward after a man fires a gun at her from close range. She then falls back into the car before it's rocked by an explosion.

It's pretty obvious to me that she was shot in the left side of her head and slumped into the vehicle.

3. Police 'prevented Bhutto autopsy'

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Rawalpindi's police chief stopped doctors at the hospital where Benazir Bhutto died from conducting an autopsy, according to a lawyer on the hospital's board.

It was a violation of Pakistani criminal law and prevented a medical conclusion about what killed the former prime minister, said Athar Minallah, a lawyer who serves on the board that manages Rawalpindi General Hospital.

The revelation came on Monday after dramatic new videotape of Bhutto's assassination emerged, showing her slumping just after gunshots rang out.

The tape provided the clearest view yet of the attack and appeared to show that Bhutto was shot. That would contradict the Pakistan government's account.

6. Apparently her husband did refuse the request to perform an autopsy

"However, Aziz denied that he refused to authorize an autopsy.

"I have not told anyone about stopping the post-mortem," he told The Associated Press. "It is a legal requirement, but again it is dependent upon the legal heirs of the deceased."

In a news conference Sunday, Bhutto's widowed husband, Asif Ali Zardari, confirmed that he had refused a request to perform an autopsy, saying he did not trust the government of President Pervez Musharraf to carry out a credible investigation. He also rejected the government's account about his wife's death as "lies.""

..... your own eyes and ears, or the Pakistani government? I really can't see any argument or discrepancy, when the tape is so damning.
