N.Y. Times Hires Wall St. Journal Editor

NEW YORK -- The New York Times on Wednesday named Lawrence Ingrassia, an assistant managing editor at The Wall Street Journal, as its new business and financial editor.

Ingrassia has spent 25 years at the Journal in positions ranging from a reporter in the paper's Chicago bureau to leading the newspaper's global coverage of financial markets.

Ingrassia, 51, also served as the Journal's bureau chief in London and Boston, served as special projects editor for the paper, and was longtime editor of its Money & Investing section.
