7. excerpt on hitting back hard
Earlier in the day, Ed Gillespie, the RNC chairman, had traveled to Arkansas -- Clark's home state -- and criticized the Democratic candidates, singling out Clark and arguing that he had changed his position on the war for political gain.

The RNC also released a transcript of Clark's testimony in September 2002 to the House Armed Services Committee in which he called Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein a clear threat and said military action could not be postponed indefinitely.

Responding to criticism from Gillespie, Clark told reporters that it was a sign that his campaign was succeeding.

"It looks like they've finally figured out that I'm George Bush's greatest threat," he said, blaming it on White House political adviser Karl Rove

5. Well, that'll make the core Dems happy
And it will be spun to make Clark look all ANGRY like Dean, or McCain for that matter. I think he's right though. As soon as we have a Democrat congress, maybe that'll be done, BUT, DeLay and Frist won't let any sort of investigation proceed.

8. I doubt criminal charges will ever fly, but how about a class-action suit?
Edited on Thu Jan-15-04 08:56 PM by mike1963
"Plaintiffs as listed herein, hereby sue George Walker Bush for damages, personally and collectively as "The Administration" for $200,000,000,000
,000 (Two Hundred Trillion dollars) in monetary damages incurred against the American People during his tenure, for harm done to the honor, economy, infrastructure, good-will, national security and peace of mind of said citizens of the United States of America."

"Whereas, Bush has ...........(bill of particulars, etc):..........."

19. Do not let this idea slip away into the DU background
This is a very very clever idea.

How can we work on doing something like this?

Certainly, the people of the United States have been sufficiently harmed for a class action suit to have grounds.

Of course it wouldn't succeed (guess what Supreme Court it would finally end up at?) but it would be a horrendous embarrassment to the Bush administration, and point out the clear distinction between them and the rest of this country.

Maybe someone could institute a RICO style investigation against them as well.

Where is John Edwards now that we really need him?

If he doesn't win the nomination, maybe we can raise enough money to hire him to fight this case.

Don't let this one drop.

11. Watch the MW's spin this into
"Clark is an extremest." or some other slur against his character. Also, I am not sure this painful truth is what the "Undecideds" wanted to hear.

14. Bit misleading title, but bless Clark's heart for saying it
Finally, someone besides Kucinich and Waxman are stating the obvious. They also need to look very closely at those unsupported Al-Qaeda charges relating to 9-11 and ultimately the pre-planned invasion of Afghanistan.

15. It should start with public disclosure and hearings on Cheney's
energy task force's records. Every shred of paper should be made public and every person who had anything to do with it or consulted in any way should have to testify under oath. I am convinced that that is where 9-11, Afghanistan and Iraq were planned and developed.

21. Methinks Bush and Rove are about to get a Clark smackdown.
That's what I love about Clark. He can straight out call Bush a criminal, and still sound sane and credible saying it.

I'm with him. Let's have some investigations.

22. IF the shit really hits the fan.....
and it looks like Bushco is facing criminal charges this time next year as they leave office, do you think that * would step down and have Cheney issue a full pardon, and then possibly go down the sucession line pardoning themselves?
