Anti-Gay Episcopalians Forming New Organization
Anti-Gay Episcopalians Forming New Organization

POSTED: 6:25 a.m. EST January 19, 2004

PLANO, Texas -- Episcopalians who opposed their denomination's consecration of a gay bishop are gathering Monday to form a new Network of Anglican Communion Dioceses and Parishes.

The American Anglican Council's Bruce Mason, who's attending the two-day meeting in Texas, said the network will start out inside the denomination.

But he added that Anglicans abroad may recognize the new network as the authentic voice of Anglicanism in the United States.

4. It was edited out, along with that part that says...
thou shalt not kill

and

turn the other cheek

That reminds me...(humorous)...

On the way back to my home town, there is a "Bible Outlet Store"...factory over-runs and seconds.

Seconds? What, bible's with typo's?

Foreman: STOP!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!! Jim, get over here! Who set the type yesterday?

Jim: I think Bob did. Why?

Foreman: THOU SHALT KILL? THOU SHALT KILL? What the hell are you guys doin' on second shift?

jim: Well, we'll just sell this run to that outlet store.

5. Ah, the Church of Continuing Bigotry.
After all, the cross is made of two straight lines. It's obvious what God intended by that.

I'm just wondering how they can test to be sure, I mean, really sure they don't have any of THOSE people among them.

Perhaps show some gay porn and see who......

Well, I'm sure they'll find a way.

11. Good!
Let them join their ideological cousins, the Southern Baptists. I don't need those homophobic Neanderthals in my church.

12. I work at an Episcopal church .
The priest is a cool guy. (When we get anti-gay, anti-choice fundie junk mail, he immediately tosses it out.) He started a Bible study series addressing homosexuality in hopes of helping parishioners be ok with the church having a gay bishop. But still, one man is seriously considering leaving the church because of it. And sadly, this man is only 18!

13. As an Episcopalian,
I don't want their hate affecting my church. Besides, what if homophobic bigotry is contagious? Then I sure don't wanna have to drink wine out of the same chalice as THEM. :grouphug: But everybody else is welcome to join those of us who believe that love it what it's all about.

I am disturbed at how this controversy has torn the church apart, really though. At the shelter I work for, our new Financial Director used to work for my church, but was laid off because of huge budget cuts in the church over this 'crisis'. I hate to see people losing their jobs because of other's intolerances.
