Signaling a new wave of anti-gay pronouncements endorsed by the Vatican, Belgium's Cardinal Gustaaf Joos has declared that 95 percent of all gays are nothing more than sexual perverts.

Only five to 10 percent of all lesbians and gays "are actually gay" Joos told the Belgian weekly P-Magazine in an interview.

"I am willing to write in my own blood that of all those who call themselves lesbian or gay, a maximum of five to 10 percent are effectively lesbian or gay," Joos said. "All the rest are just sexual perverts," he added.
