Congressman: Details of Iraqi WMD 'years away'
Holly CRap!

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- It could take years before investigators are able to uncover the details of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs under Saddam Hussein, according to the House Intelligence Committee's chairman.

2. Which means I-raq was never an immediate dire threat to the US
Now they can't even come up with the WMD programs.

Lies upon lies.

21. OK, why the fuck haven't they honed in on that?
That dimwit still talked about the WMDs. Unbelievable. And more believable....no one is calling him on it.

That's what's wrong with the Dem party these days - no common sense sometimes. Mediocrity is rampant.

3. Yet, Saddam was supposed to have these ready to go in 45 mins?
But it's taking years to find them?

"I'm coming after you, George! I'm going for my WMDs now! You hear me! You'll feel the brunt of my WMDs in a few years. Just as soon as I find them"

And there that f*cking word "programs" again! :eyes:

4. OK now, enough is enough.
Cast out some arbitrary long time like 5 years. Did he supply a time line along with this estimate?

They have change the whole tune here. Is the populace waking up to the fact that they have been had???

Bush figured that by now Iraq would be hunky dory and these issues would never come up & be forgotten, or that the would find SOMETHING
there to point at - he tried this unsuccessfully with the balloon launcher equipment. However, like everything else he has done in his life, he is wrong and has failed.

The ominous part to all this is that he is doing the same kind of things with respect to the economy, where the facts don't at all agree with the policy either.

9. I disagree
He figured nothing. He did it with complete disdain and confidence that he would get away with anything he decided and he has. He gave us all the finger, smirked at us all, and further, has no conscience, and does not care what he does to his own people or how they suffer under his reign--he is the bully in control and gets what he wants and he has, He does not care how foolish he looks. He will keep it up as long as no one challenges him on it. He is ruling and he is getting away with it-murder and-even treason.

15. You are probably right
I think I am giving him too much credit. It has always bothered me that they could have done this without considering the consequences.
I suppose that the obvious answer to my dilemma is that they didn't care about the consequences.

22. I think they figured they'd find something after the "stupid" UN was done
They probably didn't expect them to find all the stuff that was leftover from the Great American grab bag of weapons. Still wonder if they have the planted WMDs up their sleeves until August. Holy shit, that's this fall.

5. Their spin is bordering on pure stupidity now. They don't even try
to make sense or even address any of the lies they have told. Why, what is so obvious to me, is so believable to so many people. I mean shit, that probably sounds reasonable to some people.

6. 'years away' means after election if you force us
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/01/21/sprj.nirq.main/index.html

"I would say that we are probably a couple of years away from getting through all the material and talking to all the people we need to talk to about exactly what was going on, not only with the Saddam Hussein regime but with some of the Taliban and some of the things that have been going on in North Korea, Libya, Iran and other places."
<snip>
In his State of the Union address Tuesday night to Congress and the American people, President Bush cited the Kay report as support for the U.S.-led war in Iraq."Had we failed to act, weapons of mass destruction programs would continue to this day," Bush said.

BUT BUT BUT - Kay's report said their were no WMD found!

8. Was there an actual "Kay Report"
My understanding was that they were going to basically forget the whole thing and sweep it under the rug.

14. Unless of course, they find anything
that even might remotely, possibly, could have been evidence of WMD's. Then they will blab all over the news about it until the new evidence is proved to be baseless. Then they will just pretend they never suggested any such thing. Just like the falafel trucks of mass obstruction.
