Coroner could hold new Kelly inquest

A coroner is considering opening a fresh inquest into the death of David Kelly after it emerged that Lord Hutton was not passed all the information that police had collected about the weapons expert's apparent suicide.
It was today reported that police had interviewed 500 people and taken 300 witness statements, but fewer than 70 of them had been deemed relevant.

The statements include a testimony from Mai Pederson, the US military linguist who initiated Dr Kelly into the Baha'i faith.

The Hutton inquiry, which was held at the high court in London during August and September, had the status of a coroner's inquiry.

However, Nicholas Gardiner, the Oxfordshire coroner, has the right to hold his own inquiry if he is not satisfied with the findings.

1. Apparent suicide?

I wish they would stop calling Kelly's death an apparent suicide. Under the circumstances his death should be considered a possible homicide until the evidence proves otherwise.

I also find it very annoying that the article than goes on to drop lots of hints that Kelly had a terrible childhood/family life (so it must have been suicide).
