Aurora Will Leave St. Louis, Cutting 170 In Move To N.J.

"Aurora Foods Inc. is leaving the St. Louis area for good, the company said Thursday.

Its corporate headquarters in Maryland Heights and a neighboring product-development center will shut down, and most of the approximately 170 remaining employees in St. Louis will lose their jobs.

The food manufacturer, which owns brands such as Duncan Hines, Celeste frozen pizza and Mrs. Butterworth's, is moving its corporate operations to Cherry Hill and Mountain Lakes, N.J., to consolidate with Pinnacle Foods Holding Corp., which is based in those cities.

The merger is part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization that Aurora filed last month."
