Clark: GOP agenda at play in New Hampshire debate

Presidential candidate Wesley Clark on Friday complained that one of the moderators in Thursday night's debate was carrying out a Republican agenda by questioning his Democratic credentials.

Brit Hume of Fox News Channel, who worked as both moderator and questioner during the two-hour debate with the seven candidates, pressed Clark about when he had first realized he was a Democrat.

Clark told reporters Friday, "I looked at who was asking the questions, and I think that was part of the Republican agenda in the debate."

Democrats have complained that Fox News Channel shows a Republican bias.

Kerry is saying its over the top to call Bush a deserter and we should all just forget about what the Fortunate Son was doing while thousands of young Americans died in VietNam.

Now Dean is supposedly saying on CNN that his campaign wasn't really about the war.

Maybe that's whats wrong with backing a non-politician. There's limits to what they'll do for a vote.

Clark took the correct tack, and I hope the other candidates find a venue to make similar complaints.

Even the folks I like to call "sheeple" are not stupid, they are asleep at the switch. Anything that makes them take note of what is said and deduce why it was said is good IMHO.

I'm remembering the 8 year long verbal assault on Bill Clinton. On the whole it was not very effective, because most people saw it for what it was. Let's give folks an ample chance to see this for what it is...

you know...I told the Dean folks in Vermont to not go to anymore debates in Iowa for the same reasons two weeks before his disaster.

There is one thing I like about Clark. I think he had got some goods on boooooooooooooooosh.

Oh one more thing, I dont understand how anyone could vote for the Honorable Senator John Kerry/Edward.

They voted with Bush over 50% of the time and miss most of the votes.

Clark is absolutely straightforward and honest. He may have voted for Raygun, but then, so did I - once. I was a brainwashed youth. I see him as a man of integrity (hate me or call me naive if you wish) I gave Dean $200 5+/- months ago. Wish I could take 1/2 of it back. Only given Clark $100, but am saving my $ for the eventual nominee.

Evil bastards ask questions made to make dems look bad, divisive and angry. Then when someone outs them as not fair, not balanced in the least bit. Then on to Hannity & what's his name - and you've got the FOX network, and all their stupid moronic listeners across this land listening to the lies.

Fox doesn't hold back their disdane for the left. Our country is so divided right now - Bush is the #1 divider, the media is #2. Since all the other networks are trying to copy cat FOX, we just have to sit back and listen to it garbage. And I don't mean litteraly, but even if you don't ever watch FOX, MSRNC, CBS, ABC - they are so powerful now, that without listening, their crap infiltrates into the papers, the news papers, magazines, etc...

The media has way too much control over our daily lives and way too much influence on those who can't think for themselves.

16. Did anyone notice the bogus qurestion they asked Sharpton?

I thought asking him about what his thoughts were about the Federal Reserve was a bit over the top and was done to embarrass him. As it was, he answered first thinking thay asked about the WTO or the IMF (I'm not sure which). But I thought it was a cheap trick. How much can you say about the Federal Reserve? I'm sure no one in the audience had strong opinions one way or another on that one.

I also thought Sharpton's reminder about what happens when the states decide civil rights issues was right on target. It put them all in their places. He may not win the presidency, but his place in those debates is very important and it keeps them all on their toes.

I was proud of the candidates for forming a united front last night but it didn't really get anyone anywhere. My question is, why is that republican Lieberman still in this? That question was designed to embarrass Sharpton. I doubt if there are many on DU who could compare and contrast fiscal and monetary policy. I really felt sorry for Sharpton. Hell...I doubt if all of the other candidates could...(except that Clark did teach economics at West Point)

The interviewers had an agenda all right and it was to destroy everybody but Liebermann so Bushco can have a cakewalk in November.

A candidate for the presidency should know what the federal reserve is, and what it does.

During the one "debate" in 2000 where "average citizens" got to ask questions, I was hoping for this: "Governor Bush, would you please tell us in detail how an Act becomes a Law?"
