4. People seem to forget Halliburtons trouble with accounting fraud

(recent) in which they counted overruns on contracts for construction - which they often later try to get some compensation for (but rarely fully get) - as REVENUES.

I believe around that time there were also charges of defrauding/cheating the government.

They are also under prosecution (i think) in France for bribing officials of an African government.

Irregularities in their contract that gouges taxpayers for importing oil to Iraq has been documented.

Employees of Halliburton have been fingered (and ceremoniously fired) for taking 6 million in bribes in Kuwait relating a subcontract.

... But Halliburton is a victim of critics... right Dick - sorry but professional victim doesn't look good on you.

to hear of Halliburton's selfless good works in Iraq. How public spirited of them to make the noble self-sacrifice of applying for the tenders.

He first says they're a "great" company and then says they've had 15 people killed. I guess the more people that get killed, the greater it is? If that's the case, yes indeed, he and dumbya are truly headed for greatness.

There will be possibly more over the gas overcharges. Sure nice of Cheney to attempt to whitewash everything for them. NPR yesterday said that Halliburton was going to advertise to make their image appear better. Ha- they should just pay back the taxpayers and we would feel a whole lot better. Don't add insult to injury by spending our money on some dang commercial.
Cheney must feel real bad when he goes to the bank and has to think about the 15 flag draped Halliburtonites who got 3 cents on the dollar.

was the rule where companies that had been convicted of defrauding the government on contracts were banned from getting future contracts. And Halliburton was one of those companies. They got rid of that rule on about the 2nd day they were in office.
