A new poll released Wednesday morning shows that U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)
has a commanding lead among women and African-American voters in the
presidential race with his presumptive Republican opponent, U.S. Sen. John McCain of
Arizona. Overall nationally, Obama has a 50 percent to 41 percent lead over McCain,
according to the Quinnipiac University poll.

Obama has 94 percent of the African-American vote, compared to 1 percent for
McCain; women support Obama over McCain 55 percent to 36 percent.

2. Bush had a 40% approval rating in 2004, if I remember correctly.

In any case, we need to get on the right-wing stations with coordinated talking points saying that McCain needs to waste his money in a futile attempt to concentrate on
winning the African-American vote.

McCain has 1% of the African-American vote?

That's half of Bush's share!

5. The GOP strategy will be to suppress and disenfranchise the black vote..
they will also stir up as much racial hatred as they possibly can between now and November.

8. Forget 1988. Every election cycle is different. Fundamentals were much different in 1988.
Reagan was going out with much higher approval ratings than Bush, the economy was relatively strong, we were not mired in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And the Republican Party was still in the ascendancy. All that has changed.
