However strange this might sound, the tobacco plant, normally associated with causing cancer rather then curing it, could actually aid patients with follicular B-cell lymphoma, US researchers found.

Follicular B-cell Lymphoma is a type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that attacks the immune system. A B-cell is type of lymphocyte or white blood cell, which is responsible for defending the body against bacteria and other types of pathogens that cause illness.

How odd, that they find a use for the tobacco plant after smoking is being banned left right and center.
While I'm happy that a use can be made for this (the last) cash crop of the south, and more than happy if this pans out and help people.. the skeptic in me is going Hmmmmmmm
/tinhat

I hope this works, it's about time this plant started HELPING people as opposed to killing them. :)

1. Tobacco is the chief of the herbs - Big Medicine. Has been helping for thousands of years

Tobacco can bring Big Good or Big Bad, depending on how it is used or abused.

This has long been known on Turtle Island (North America). BIG MEDICINE when used with wisdom.

The scientists should sit in council with some Elders, and -- for a change -- listen.

3. Tobacco benefits is a vast, esoteric subject

Suffice to say for now that if tobacco is used to make Medicine Smoke, it is not inhaled into the lungs.

It is taken into the mouth only, impressed, and then expelled -- Making Visible the Invisible.

Enigmatically yours (gotta get to work), SH

5. Nicotine has many medical uses
It is the smoking of it and additives added to cigs that cause the problem. I did a paper on it years and years ago. Like many plants it has it's good and bad uses.
Here is one study.

I often tell people that the one thing that is missing from the political upheaval in the 60's and now is the use of tobacco.
