A flight with members of Texas' U.S. Congressional delegation aboard, including former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, "took a major nosedive" and was forced to make an emergency landing on Tuesday afternoon, according to a Houston TV station.

KHOU reports that a Continental Airlines flight carrying seven U.S. lawmakers suddenly lost cabin pressure on its way from Houston to Washington, D.C.'s Reagan National Airport.

The flight recovered, was diverted and landed safely in New Orleans, according to one lawmaker's spokesperson.

Aboard the flight among 118 total people were Paul (R), along with Reps. John Carter (R), Henry Cuellar (D), Nick Lampson (D), Solomon Ortiz (D), Ted Poe (R), and Ciro Rodriguez (D), all representing Texas in the U.S. House.

He is one of the biggest assholes west of the Mississippi. He was Tom Delays biggest apologist, and he never saw a Bush decision he didn't like.

9. Just another coincidence?
Didn't Baracks plane have some kind of emergency landing the last few days?
It's interesting to note that of all the dignitaries on the flight the majority were democrats and of the two republicans Ron Paul is still a thorn in the side of McCain.

14. Flight carrying members of Congress makes emergency landing
Source: AP and KHOU News

A Continental Airlines flight carrying seven members of Congress from Houston to Washington was forced to make an emergency landing after it lost cabin pressure Tuesday afternoon.

Flight 458 was bound for Reagan National Airport, but was diverted and landed safely in New Orleans, a spokeswoman for U.S. Rep. Ted Poe told 11 News.

Poe and fellow Texas Congressmen Nick Lampson, Ron Paul, John Carter, Ciro Rodriguez, Solomon Ortiz and Henry Cuellar were aboard the flight, said Poe's press secretary DeeAnn Thigpen.

Ironically, the seven congressmen were trying to get back in time for a Tuesday night vote on an aviation safety bill, a spokesman for one of the representatives said. ...

17. Didn't they know Continental is a crap airline?
Fifteen years ago I made a trip with friends on Continental because of a low rate. On both legs of the flight there were multi-hour delays for equipment problems. I'd heard that tires had to be changed, hydraulic systems had leaks, and other things.

I'm really glad that these Congressmen had to experience how lousy this particular airline treats civilians. And if they fly a lot of other airlines, instead of taking special government or military flights, they might realize how equally bad they are - if they survive the trips.
