Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 30.EAGLE - Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant became ill prior to the start of a scheduled two-day hearing in Eagle County court this morning and did not appear.
His lawyers waived his appearance today with the approval of District Judge Terry Ruckriegle, meaning the hearing in Bryant's sex-assault case will go on without him.
The judge is listening to testimony from a series of witnesses behind closed doors today concerning the medical and psychological records of Bryant's 19-year-old accuser.
