ASHINGTON -- U.S. Capitol police were investigating a potentially hazardous white powder discovered in a Senate office building Monday.
A preliminary test of the powder showed it testing positive as a hazardous substance, but police had not determined what the substance was. The powder was found in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, one of three structures occupied by senators and their staffs.
Sgt. Contricia Ford said police were conducting more extensive tests.
