Drudge: 9/11 Commission to meet privately with Condoleezza Rice
http://www.drudgereport.com/flash4.htm

In tomorrow's NEW YORK OBSERVER, author Gail Sheehy talks with former Nebraska Senator and 9/11 Commission president Bob Kerrey, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Sen. Kerrey tells Ms. Sheehy that the commission is scheduled to meet privately with Condoleezza Rice on Saturday, Feb. 7. Her testimony will not be sworn or made public; but the commission has not yet decided whether to use its subpoena power to compel public, sworn testimony from either Dr. Rice or the President. Kerrey declares himself in favor of requesting sworn, public testimony from Dr. Rice.

MORE

Sen. Kerrey calls the President's new commission to investigate Iraq intelligence failures a political maneuver; the 9/11 commission already has the Iraq investigation in its purview.

1. Republicans FORCED Clinton to testify under oath...
...about a consensual affair. Yet the Bush* administration has a CHOICE?

7. And they made sure it was taped.
Of course, it worked against them since viewers saw a composed Bill Clinton being hounded by a thigh-rubbing little toad from Ken Starr's office.

23. Their plan was to get him under oath as often as possible and hope
he slipped. He eventually did. The book, Blinded by the Right by David Brock details the plan that the RW didn't even know what they were after, they just figured that if he was grilled often enough, that he'd lie about something. He did.

It DID work.

So you swear, Condi?

4. Why WOULDN'T it be sworn testimony?
WTF? Are there times that are better than others to tell the truth when you are talking about security problems that led to 3000 deaths?

This administration has an open checkbook on lying.

5. Bob Kerry is (or at least was) very cool
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 09:45 PM by ixion
I think he's become more mainstream in his old age, but for many years he was one of the coolest politicians around, and not just 'cause he is from my home state. ;-)

I really hope he is able to do something meaningful with the commission, and not just rubber stamp the WH 'official' line.

8. Bring 'em in, one by one, all alone, under oath and see how
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 10:06 PM by ignatius
the stories don't match up. It takes a wise person to recognize their own lies when they come ack to them and these guys just aren't that bright.

I have said this before, but all their lies, most of which are on record, will do them in.

I hope you are shaking in your boots, Condi..one reaps what one sows and your harvest is about ready to be picked.

Maybe instead of naming an oil rig after you. we will be able to name a cell block after you. I gots to have my dreams.

Ms Rice is a proven liar. How do I know? I have read her contradictory statements. Why is this Congress so afraid of the Neo Fascists?

14. Does she have to be treated with respect?
She doesn't deserve respect -

Rice, the messenger who told us that 'they' never thought that a/c would be used as bombs...................even though she was probably involved in or in charge of the Genoa (?) meeting around Apr or May of 2001.............which the enthroned one attended. Italy prepared for and protected against intelligence that reported that an a/c was to be used as a bomb.

16. Under oath and public would be nice
But, frankly, I think it would be a miracle. I suspect national security will be invoked by someone (probably including this committee) to prevent it. I hate being this pessimistic.

It was her fucking job to prevent 9/11. She, more than anyone else, has a lot to answer for.

25. Why bother?
If Ms. Rice is not going to be held accountable, as is true of this entire mis-administration, why waste the time to question her?

I do not understand the logic, if there is any.
