Gay-Rights Activists Gather Petitions to Force Fall Vote in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI (AP) - Activists said Monday they have gathered enough signatures to ask voters in November to repeal a 1993 city charter amendment that made Cincinnati the only U.S. city to ban the enactment or enforcement of gay-rights laws.

The group Citizens to Restore Fairness, which contends the amendment denies gays protection against discrimination, said it has collected about 13,000 signatures, more than double the number required to put the issue on the ballot.
