Perhaps you should edit your title.....

<ISKANDARIYA, Iraq (Reuters) - About 50 people were killed and dozens wounded on Tuesday when a car bomb ripped through a police station south of Baghdad, witnesses and hospital doctors said.

"There are around 50 martyrs, 30 of whom have been identified, and dozens wounded," Dr Tahsim Ahmad told Reuters at Iskandariya hospital, near the site of the attack.

The hospital's director, Razak Jannabi, said: "Thirty dead have been brought here, I believe that number is rising. I believe it's at 49.">

6. Interesting how this was covered
On BBC America, this story was treated as huge breaking news with live commentary from a reporter in Baghdad. On CNN and NBC, it was given a brief "another bomb near Baghdad, more dead Iraqis" treatment with a map on screen for a few seconds. American news organizations are definitely downplaying violence in Iraq.

The contrast between BBC America and the American tripe called news is extraordinary.

9. They're saying up to 50
may have died now. I was interested to hear the correspondent say that the Iraqi police were attacked frequently, and had more or less been exposed to this level of violence because, with the US and UK forces retreating to their fortified bases, they were the available soft target.

With the US media ignoring anything but US casualties, this seems to have been a shrewd political move by the neocons...
