California Democrat Henry Waxman is calling on Attorney General John Ashcroft to reveal who cleared members of Osama bin Laden’s family and other Saudi citizens to leave the country immediately following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Citing press accounts and congressional testimony on the issue, Waxman says the public "needs reassurance" that the Bush administration conducted an "appropriate investigation" of the Saudis that were allowed to leave.

"If such investigation did not occur, the public deserves to know why," Waxman said. The lawmaker, the ranking Democrat on the House Government Reform Committee, has been increasingly active in his minority oversight role.

Interesting to note, Dick Morris was on Faux last night. He noted that when the country was at Orange Alert, Bush's ratings were eight points higher. Morris claimed that whenever the U.S. is on a 'higher' terror alert status, the country feels that it 'needs' Bush's leadership. LOL, if it wasn't so pathetic. But, it brings to mind... how far Bush-Rove will 'go' to boost the plummeting poll numbers?

Took them weeks to find out where one COW came from,

so how could they possibly have checked into any "connections" between 9-11 and these "freed" bin Ladens ?

have they "proven" yet that Osama was indeed the "brains" behind 9-11 yet ?

I don't see a whole lotta people convicted of involvement in 9-11

Alot in jail, yes

and alot of dead civilian Iraqi's, yes

but where are those jailed for 9-11 ? :shrug:

In January 2001 the new bush* administration ordered the fBI to stop investigating Saudis, including the Bin Laden family? Perhaps that is how 15 of them got in this country to commit acts of terror so easily.
