First Lady confirms: Dallas is new home
Source: San Antonio Business Journal

First Lady Laura Bush and President George W. Bush are moving back to Dallas when the president’s term
expires in January, the Associated Press is reporting.

The AP says the first lady’s press secretary confirmed Wednesday that the couple are purchasing a home
in Dallas.

Neither Laura Bush nor her press secretary elaborated on the home’s exact location. The First Lady previously
told CNN the couple would spend their weekdays in Dallas and the weekends at their ranch in Crawford —
a small town outside of Waco that has gained national recognition due to George Bush’s numerous visits to the
ranch during his presidency.

But if W is in Dallas who will take care of the cattle at his ranch?

I mean he is such a cowboy and a man of the land ..... I wonder if he
will have time to plant his spring hay for the livestock?

:tinfoilhat: Or maybe the Crawford Ranch was just a set for photo
ops that a lazy media could use to sell a phony story of a cowboy
named bush?

22. There goes the neighborhood!

All the people in Dallas needs is a Torture-N-Chief being set loose in Highland Park neighborhood. Sort of like "Jack the Ripper" being set loose. I hope they have a neighborhood watch.

6. You know that backdrop with the old shed and bales of hay?
The one where the talking heads appear on camera?

It is directly behind the high school parking lot. If LittleMan is in Crawford and anything "Newsworthy" happens around end of school day, the students are kept indoors until all of the News Types get their airtime.

Two brothers own that little patch and have been renting it out for years.

The "Ranch" has quietly gone on the market, by the way.

19. Damn right, those cows a "rentals".
I know where they get them, as well (my ex's cousin). They were originally were supposed to be there, full-time, but the Bushes were appalled at the amount of manure being trucked out. Seems PencilDick couldn't stand the thought of all that crap composting on his Fantasy Farm.

They even had the bulls neutered so no one would have to witness any goings-on there.

It's all just one Really Bad Joke.

Edited on Wed Dec-03-08 05:12 PM by Botany
Dad was a fruit grower in Oregon when i heard bush tell somebody
in Nebraska that he could talk about "ranching" I wanted to vomit.

That man (W) would not last 1 day working on a real farm. And yet
the media kept telling us "the lie" about bush and his ranch. Damn
thing was built in 1999 by Enron.

BTW you might be right .... looks like the ranch is for sale.

Aren't neutered bulls called steers or beef cattle? ..... My uncle always had
1 or 2 bulls but they had their balls and were there to get the cows pregnant
so they would produce milk ..... and once the bulls quit making baby cows
or got too mean they became 'burger real fast.

I would love to see bush in a ring with a real live bull.

I think the most of the 'pubs are pretty much same.

I have family in the area around Crawford, and when Idjit was "clearing brush" in mid-August, I could hear their peals of laughter all the way out here on SF Bay. Only someone who wanted to experience heat stroke would pull a stunt as dumb-ass as that.

29. Amongst their own....
I am not sure there are any gated homes in Highland Park and I would assume they will need to be behind gates although he of course belongs behind bars. They had bought a lot in Highland Park several years ago but I suspect the security issue came into play so I have to assume they will buy in one of the gated communities. Probably in Turtle Creek. Hopefully some teenagers will chain and padlock the gates one night when the security guards are not paying attention. Teenagers at least could get away with it. At least we can say he was "locked in" for at least one night. Next best thing to being locked up I suppose.

Dallas County may have gone Democratic of late but Highland Park and Turtle Creek and several other areas are solidly Republican. Rabidly Republican. So they will be amongst their own.

Better Dallas than Houston. One Bush is already one too many, thank you.

13. Didn't the National Enquirer reveal this months ago?
Or maybe it was the Globe. Anyway, this is old news. A realtor in Dallas was interviewed, and she said the Bushes were quietly shopping for a home in Dallas. Yes, they will lead separate lives. This is Laura's demand -- a home in Dallas where she doesn't even have to look at her husband. And in exchange, she won't press for a divorce.

Laura could have visitation rights that way.

oh, wait... what am I thinking... Bush is a rich politician. He'll never be held accountable for murdering 100ks of innocent Iraqis, thousands of Americans, torturing innocent children, raping them... he'll never be held accountable for destroying the American economy, along with his other republican cronies...

because this is America. The law only applies if you're not rich.

31. Probably a rumor...
But you never know. The Bushes and their CIA apparently have their sights on South America again. So they have to have a base I suppose. If nothing else they can use it as a place for "R&R" for the covert agents and the drug dealers who sell the drugs to get the money for the covert agents to buy the guns to start the revolutions with!

48. Actually they are returning to Dallas...
Edited on Wed Dec-03-08 08:57 PM by Baby Snooks
They lived in Dallas before he became governor of Texas. So they are merely returning to Dallas rather than moving there. And they will be welcomed by their own. Despite the opposition of thousands within the Methodist Church, the board of trustees of SMU have approved the Bush Library on the grounds of SMU and of course he will have an "institute" as well which will be similar to the Baker Institute at Rice in Houston.

He has gotten away with it all. And probably will get away with a lot more. He will probably go back to his "wheeling and dealing" and will probably become richer than any Bush including his father.

He was not a better president than his father. So he will have to become a better crook. And as most in Texas already know he got rich off insider deals long before he got a taste of politics and with all the favors and deals that have come their way as a result of his years governing first the state of Texas and then the entire country, not to mention the bonanza of Iraq for Halliburton and others, no doubt quite a few will be sharing their bounty with him.

And no, he won't return to "wheeling and dealing." He sucked miserably at "wheeling and dealing." EVERYTHING he has, everything he is, has been handed to him by friends and allies of his father, who quite frankly, are extremely pissed about how badly he's fucked things up. There will be a certain contingent that will follow and fawn, most will make jokes behind his back, much as they did before. gee-dumbya has never been well-liked, only well tolerated. And let's just say he's left a very bad taste in certain mouths.
