U.S. soldier accused of aiding Al Qaeda

Trooper attempted to contact terrorists through Web, army alleges

FORT LEWIS, Wash. (AP) — A U.S. National Guardsman was arrested today and charged by the army with trying to provide information to the Al Qaeda terrorist network, the military said.

U.S. army Lt.-Col. Stephen Barger confirmed Spc. Ryan Anderson was charged with aiding the enemy by wrongfully attempting to communicate and give intelligence to Al Qaeda. Anderson, 26, is being held at Fort Lewis, Wash., an army base near Tacoma.

Barger declined to give any details on the arrest, including what information allegedly was given to Al Qaeda or how it was provided.

1. Misleading headline
Not your fault, of course -- it's the fault of the news source. The subhead is accurate, though.

The reality is that Anderson was arrested only for allegedly trying to pass some unspecified information -- "the type of thing you see on the History Channel" -- to a government plant who pretended to be connected to al-Qaida.

The scumbags on KOMO-TV in Seattle said this in their 11am news today: "Soldiers at Fort Lewis are dealing with tough news this morning -- news of an enemy within their ranks."

If Anderson turns out to be as "guilty" as Chaplain James Lee, I hope he sues the whoremedia to kingdom come.
