Iran 'ready to sell nuclear fuel' (On the open market)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3488401.stm

Iran has announced that it is ready to sell nuclear fuel abroad.

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi made the announcement on Saturday, the official Iranian news agency IRNA said.

The US suspects that Iran is using a civilian nuclear programme as a cover for developing nuclear weapons - a charge that Tehran has often denied.

Mr Kharrazi said Iran would not give up its nuclear programme, which he called a matter of "national pride".

1. I can't figure out why they don't seem worried about Bush invading them?
They must have an ace in the hole. And I am starting to think that ace may be the nuclear umbrella that Russia has agreed to provide for them. Or they have their own?

2. They have not been bombed into submission already ...
With no-fly zones across half their country, weapons inspectors in and out of their country for years, and crippling economic sanctions imposed for years. In other words, they would actually be able to put up a fight.

4. Remember also that Iranians are not Arabs, so the scummy
connections with BushCo and the Saudis don't reach that far. If you think we don't understand Iraq... we don't have a hope in hell of understanding Iran.

6. True enough, but that was a quid pro quo... the Islamists needed
a way out of the hostage thing, and the Reganites needed a way to make Carter look bad.

But they are not normally business partners like the Saudis are.
