Review shows no contact with Blago
By POLITICO STAFF | 12/15/08 2:52 PM EST

Below is a statement from Obama Transition Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer:

"At the direction of the President-elect, a review of Transition staff contacts with Governor Blagojevich and his office has been conducted and completed and is ready for release. That review affirmed the public statements of the President-elect that he had no contact with the governor or his staff, and that the President-elect's staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as U.S. senator.

"Also at the President-elect's direction, Gregory Craig, counsel to the Transition, has kept the US Attorney's office informed of this fact-gathering process in order to ensure our full cooperation with the investigation.

"In the course of those discussions, the US Attorney's office requested the public release of the Transition review be deferred until the week of December 22, in order not to impede their investigation of the governor. The Transition has agreed to this revised timetable for release."

1. Response from the popular media
"Wrong answer; try again."

The media chuckleheads sooooo want this to be a problem, they're not going to take no for an answer. And even a definitive "no" will morph into "vague" or "incomplete" or whatever else the popular media want to read into it. These will, of course, be the very same people who didn't see anything to be skeptical about when George W. Bush told reporters that he didn't have any plans to invade Iraq "on his desk" in early 2003. Oh, so all those troops and ships and materiel heading toward Iraq are just out for a stroll and they just happen to all be heading to the exact same place?

2. M$M is picking the bones I'm noticing.
Making a big stink about the words "inappropriate" discussions.

:wtf: is the big deal? Wha? Did an O staff member call Blago and discuss the benefits of eating turkey bacon vs pork bacon?

How's that for an inappropriate discussion?!

Hello David Shuster, will you stop with the fucktardery already. You're making yourself look like an extra large dillweed.

3. Its important to note Fitz asked that Obama put off the review disclosure
I just heard Nora O'Donnell MSNBC try to push the idea that the Obama team
is trying to hide something, so expect that spin.

I'm sure the Obama team will be through and transparent.

from trying to make something out of nothing anyway. After all, that is what they are good at.

9. Me thinks Obama is gonna have a rude awakening with that Idea.
But hey, I am sure that there are areas where he will be able to work with them when interests coincide.

5. Obama Camp: We Did Nothing Wrong -- and We'll Prove it Next Week
Source: ABC News

ABC News’ Rick Klein Reports: The Obama transition team announced Monday that the internal review of contacts with Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s office is complete, and that it bears out President-elect Barack Obama’s contention that no “inappropriate discussions” took place.

But -- we’ll have to wait a week to read all about it.

The statement from Obama Transition Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer:

"At the direction of the President-elect, a review of Transition staff contacts with Governor Blagojevich and his office has been conducted and completed and is ready for release. That review affirmed the public statements of the President-elect that he had no contact with the governor or his staff, and that the President-elect's staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator.

"Also at the President-elect's direction, Gregory (Craig), counsel to the Transition, has kept the US Attorney's office informed of this fact-gathering process in order to ensure our full cooperation with the investigation.

At Fitzgerald's Request, Obama Team Delays Release Of Blago Review
By Greg Sargent - December 15, 2008, 2:55PM

The Obama transition team has completed its internal probe into any contacts the Obama team has had with the Blagojevich camp over Obama's Senate seat -- but the results won't be released until next week.

Here's the statement, just out from Obama spokesperson Dan Pfeiffer:

"At the direction of the President-elect, a review of Transition staff contacts with Governor Blagojevich and his office has been conducted and completed and is ready for release. That review affirmed the public statements of the President-elect that he had no contact with the governor or his staff, and that the President-elect's staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator.

15. Come on now...
The Bush team having anything that would withstand serious public scrutiny that would prove them innocent? Of... anything? Let's try to keep our examples in the realm of the plausible shall we? ;)

17. EVERY time we hear, see or read that the Obama team is breaking its promise about disclosure, we
need to google their website, click on contact us and call, email or write. And/or contact their advertisers. It's that simple.

Please, please don't ever think that just posting about something is taking action that matters in the real world. Bombard these jerks. Hold their feet to the fire.
