I have commented before that it was no shock to any of us Illinois folks to hear that Blago finally got busted. Many of us pretty much knew how dirty he is for an awful long time--those would be the folks who voted against him in this last Primary.

What I honestly don't think any of us realized, however, was how very STUPID and egocentric that man is. He's known for a long time the Feds were after him--he made comments about it on tape fer gawd's sake--but he STILL insisted on talking about his activities in places that could be bugged. THAT amazes hell out of me. Corrupt--nope--no shock at all. Stupid enough to get nailed on tape by the Feds trying to SELL a Senate seat--now THAT is shocking.

To Blago, this stuff is SO common place it is very much like your pre-teen trying to argue that, "all the OTHER kids will be doing it..." I have zero doubts he'll try and fight it.

I also have very few doubts that at some point they are gonna have a "closed door" conversation with his lawyer explaining that Blag can go away on his own accord and maybe they won't prosecute Mrs. Blag.
