Goldman Sachs reports huge loss
Source: BBC News

US financial giant Goldman Sachs has reported a $2.12bn (£1.41bn) quarterly loss, its first since the investment bank went public in 1999.

The loss, recorded in the three months to the end of November, was bigger than analysts had expected.

During the same period in 2007, Goldman Sachs reported a net income of $3.22bn.

Goldman Sachs and rival Morgan Stanley are the only two of Wall Street's original five investment banks still in independent existence.

4. Isn't Paulson just going to write them another check?
It may have been bigger than analysts expected, but less than I expected. How long before they go broke?

5. I really hate that $2.12 billion doesn't sound like a lot of money any more.
Although I'm well aware that it is.

7. Even with the money Paulson stole for them, they 'surprised" analysts with their loss???
and it was not even real money they lost ...it was paper profits or paper "bond sales".
In short, another Ponzi scheme.
