Bush: Hard keeping 'people's minds' on Iraq
Source: yahoo news/politico

President Bush lamented this week that the farther the nation gets from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the harder it is “for people to see the connection between Al Qaeda in Iraq and their own security.”

“One of the real difficulties of the presidency has been to keep in people's mind the notion that we are in a war,” Bush said during an interview with RealClearPolitics released Friday. “The farther we got away from September the 11th ... the harder it was for people to see the connection between Al Qaeda in Iraq and their own security.”

The president blamed the complicated nature of the conflict for making the war difficult for the American public to follow. “In the past, it was nation state versus nation state. This is shadowy networks hiding in failed states, just waiting,” he said.

Bush also said that President-elect Barack Obama will be thankful that he put the “tools in place” to continue to fight an “unusual” type of war.

1. Oh, fuck him.
Seriously. He won't allow pictures, he lies and hides and dissembles and, and, and...

And then has the GALL to complain that people aren't thinking about the war enough?! You jackass, I think about it every damn day, and wish it would end. :banghead:

2. You could always start paying for your little war party, George
THAT would get people's attention. The notion of cutting taxes on the overrich whilst simultaneously launching two wars of conquest has to be the first time this has ever been tried. And how's that workin' out for ya?

3. Far out. It's almost as if Bush hung his entire "legacy" on his bogus war...
and then the rest of the world figured out that it was a bogus war, and his legacy is a legacy of historic FAIL. And he can't move on. Because it's all he ever had.

9. AAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
IT WILL NEVER END! AAAHHHH! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE!...

...Ok, now that I've calmed down, I would like to address this statement:

"...the harder it was for people to see the connection between Al Qaeda in Iraq and their own security."

President Bush, that is because there is no connection and there never has been. We are no longer interested in your bull shit, please go away.

10. No, now it is EASIER since they were NOT in Iraq before the occupation, no, no and yes....
NO, it is NOT difficult to keep in people's mind the notion that we are in a war. Talk to the friends, the families, of the 4209 (official) USA military dead, not to mention the wounded and the families/friends of those "serving" your Occupation.

NO, it is NOT the "complicated nature or the conflict" making it difficult to follow, it is WTF we are doing there at all.

However, YES, I agree that it is "shadowy networks hiding in failed states" mrbush, and YOURS is the shadowy network.

16. The connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq is Bush's "war"
Bush's continued insistence, despite all evidence to the contrary, that Al Qaeda and Iraq were connected prior to his invasion and overthrow should be enough to declare him incompetant and commit him.
