One killed in massive I94 crash.

As many of you know we are getting hit with a blizzard here in West Michigan. A 100 car pile up with 12 semi's has killed one person on I94 near mile marker 23 in SW Michigan.

4. Just down the road from me too.

My husband left for work about a half hour ago. Said the roads were ok (not icy), but visibility is near 0... he could barely see past the hood of the car. At least he made it there safely.

Can't wait for tomorrow's commute.

I'm originally from Holland, now in AZ. Coming for a visit soon...not excited to drive on Michigan roads during snow storms, that's for sure.

I remember the zero visibility and the lake effect snow -- people laugh but it's not funny when you're in it.

6. I don't think anyone said it was funny

Blizzard non-visibility conditions (and I've been a few) are nothing to laugh about. They're very stressful. Unlike camping, where you could get lost (also dangerous) at least some other vehicle won't plow into you. In blizzard conditions you can only hope you're being seen and avoided. And if anything bad happens, it's not that fixable for the time being - very dangerous.

thats about 20 minutes from here. the way it looks outside now, I am not surprised.
its still terrible outside, i cant even see the stopsign on the corner from my house, its going to cause a lot more accidents I think, tonight.

So sorry to hear of this. I have lived in many states through the years. My whole life now is devoted to moving back to Michigan, my home state. Another eight years, and I can do it and retire, I think.

Please be safe everyone! I just moved from Lansing to Tokyo, Japan, and from the pictures and video I've seen, this is the worst weather Michigan has had in a long long time. Stay safe, and make sure you help others if at all possible. Not everyone has an emergency kit.

14. I-94 toward's Detroit

Haven't been out that way in many year's where this accident took place but that stretch of 94 just west of Detroit get's really bad in winter & quite a few accident's even in the summer. Hubby & I now live in Arizona but always fear for family & friend's back in Michigan this time of year. Stay safe Michigander's!

15. I was in one of those 100 car crashes oh about 5 years ago on 131. Very scary folks.
