US stimulus plan to be ready by early February: lawmaker

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Democrats in Congress hope to approve a massive economic stimulus plan backed by president-elect Barack Obama by early February, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said on Sunday.

"We certainly want to see this package passed through the House of Representatives no later than the end of this month, get it to the Senate and get it to the president before we break" for holidays in "early February," Hoyer told "Fox News Sunday."

The Democrat confirmed the size of the package would be somewhere in the range of 775 billion to a trillion dollars.

"We've been talking in that neighborhood. I'm not going to set a figure on it," Hoyer said.

I think the House will be on track to do this, but the Senate--Reid better show he's more interested in this than he is in seating or not seating Senators.

3. Where is the money going to come from????

I am worried about the continued injection of federal money into the current economic crisis. I am not an economist, but does anyone else wonder where all of this money is going to come from. Do we have to further kill the value of the dollar versus every other currency in the industrialized world? What will happen to our ability to govern ourselves, if we are held at the mercy of foreign banks with massive holdings of US securities?

We-the-People Needed a Stimulus First!! But Our so-called do next to nothing Congress jumped to BAIL-OUT the Criminals in Banking / Insurance!? They should Not have been helped at all, but Imprisoned!! And as far as this Hoyer guy goes, - He Is in with the big Corporations, - period!! He was the anti-American whom held up the ASBESTOS FUND, to justly Compensate us Disabled CITIZENS,- Disabled by Hoyer's buddies in the Asbestos Industry!! So Please America, - We-the-People can Never count on Him at all!! - also: - will the so-called Stimulus include a Real COLA for the DISABLED & ELDERLY Living in POVERTY??
