Did Obama Skip Bush's Speech?
Source: CBS News

As his predecessor, President Bush, said his final goodbyes to America on national television, President-elect Barack Obama and his wife Michelle dined at the DC restaurant, Equinox Thursday night.

CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic, who waited outside the restaurant, reports that there is no indication whether or not Mr. Obama was watching President Bush's farewell remarks.

The President-elect departed the Blair house, located right across the street from the White House podium from which the president spoke, minutes before President Bush commenced.

A host at the restaurant tells CBS News' that the President-elect stopped by the only television in the high end establishment, a small screen at the bar, and watched for "a minute or two." The source said he did not notice what Mr. Obama was watching but that "no" it was not for an extended period of time.

I hope he won't allow the bubble to close in on him completely like that. I know he'll have his own chef and cooking staff, and there won't be any need to eat out anymore, but still he should make an effort to stay social.

13. Surprise!
The Obamas have great taste.

Equinox is a wonderful place, and their food is out of this world.

http://www.equinoxrestaurant.com/

Chimpy never went out to dinner, never went anywhere socially in DC. This past week, Barack's been all over the place - Ben's Chili Bowl, the Supreme Court, the Washington Post, Equinox tonight.

Gonna be wonderful, just wonderful, to have them in my neighborhood.......

43. That looks like a great restaurant
and the prices aren't that bad for dinner in a downtown DC restaurant. Hmm, 818 Connecticut? That's not too far from where I work. Maybe I can go and have lunch there one day. Their macaroni and cheese on the lunch menu sounds really good.

In fact, it would be detrimental to the health of most people I know. Higher BP, acid reflux, acid flashback.

There is NOTHING to be gained by tuning into a clusterf___ like that.

It was on TV blabbing again? I must have missed that.

Honestly I don't care to ever hear his voice again unless he's saying "I plead not guilty." I'll change the channel to hear that.

But, other than his immediately family and a few lunatic fringe members...
Did anyone watch it?

36. The bigger point is that CBS felt the need to discuss this.
Why make an issue of whether he watched it or nor, when it is available from the archives if needed.

While I'm venting, would someone else go the cnn.com go to the international edition and click on the hot topic link for Barack Obama and tell me what three pictures you see. I received a picture of guns, the Lorraine motel sign and a photo of Barack and Nancy Pelosi.
