2. I know a lot of NY Democrats
who, while they would be glad to vote for her in a standard election, will be glad that she has withdrawn her name. They feel even though she is a Kennedy, she needs to pay her dues and face the challenges of getting the voters approval.

34. Count me as one of them
I bear no ill will towards Caroline Kennedy, but I don't think she's a very strong candidate for the special election that is coming up next year.

of political maturity.

18. Coming from Illinois, I am not inclined to point fingers
or make too many judgments about this. But she could be considering Ted Kennedy's health. I don't think many people have mentioned that.

16. Hell no.
This is the same guy that bullied ISPs into dropping binary newsgroups simply because they might contain child porn. That's as ridiculous as blocking websites from a particular country simply because one person might upload an obscene picture.

The last thing we need in the Senate is another person that is a technological moron. Or worse, someone who knows better but will legislate our rights away anyway for the sake of a photo-op.

She may of had the smarts and the name, but judging from her interviews not the political savvy for the job. Which could've been very costly in 2010.

26. that's my hunch . . . she probably got a heads up that Paterson was going elsewhere . . .
so she withdrew to avoid the potential embarrassment of not being selected after all her campaigning . . . too bad, but maybe it's for the best . . .

36. Nor Am I
And my problem with the polite fiction about Teddy is that while it allows CK to *publicly* save face, it also allows Paterson, Cuomo, Maloney and whomever else set her up to be ridiculed for 6 weeks to escape the magnifying glass, themselves.
