BRUSSELS (AFP) — Two adults and three children were killed in a knife attack in a childcare centre near Brussels, Flemish VTM television reported on Friday.

Twenty children may have also been injured by the man armed with a knife near the town of Dendermonde, northwest of the Belgian capital, according to the website of the newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

Is it possible for anyone who sees the defenseless savagely cut down and wishing they could have defended themselves to not be referred to as a "gun-nut"?

If I'm not allowed to call people "hoplophobes" here because of the implied mental health connotation, people should not be allowed to used "gun-nut", either.

There's nothing nutty about wanting to see people defend themselves against psychos as in this story.

19. Why wouldn't adults responsible enough to take care of numbers of children

not be responsible enough to get the training they need for a concealed firearms permit? carrying responsibly is easy, you just leave the gun alone and don't talk about it or show it off or play with it. Obviously he didn'tmean the children should have been carrying, that is just stupid.


I suppose I just don't see what makes him an idiot for pointing out that an attack ended quickly by shooting the assailant would have been a better outcome than what did happen.
