Rove Will Cooperate With Federal Probe Into US Attorney Firings
Source: The Huffington Post

by Murray Waas

Karl Rove will cooperate with a federal criminal inquiry underway into the firings of nine U.S. attorneys and has already spoken to investigators in a separate, internal DOJ investigation into the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, his attorney said in an interview.

Rove previously refused to cooperate with an earlier Justice Department inquiry into the firings. The Justice Department's Inspector General and its Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) said in a report released last September detailing their earlier probe of the firings of the U.S. attorneys that their investigation was severely "hindered" by the refusal by Rove and other senior Bush administration officials to cooperate with the probe.

13. Well, if we're extremely, extremely lucky....
He'll do what a lot of criminals do and try to get off by turning state's evidence on the Dickish stars of these Cheney vids.

Or, perhaps he'll just purple and explode or something.

Eric Holder was confirmed today as our new Attorney General. I hope that after this economic matter is smoothed out, that the topic of discussion begins to shift toward investigating these criminal bastards and see who gets the most jail time. That would make me and several million other people very, very happy. On the other side of the coin, Bill O'Really is sobbing in his hot chocolet because his hero is looking at hard jail time for his crimes. Someone please give Mr. O'Really a lufa.

The economy doesn't provide a reason for Holder to delay trials of criminals.

7. Karl Rove will lie about U.S. attorney firings.
He is a deeply disturbed, pathological liar with family issues that boggle the mind. He thinks he's omnipotent, because he has gotten away with it for so long, including the Plame affair.

That may be his downfall. He has overreached, even for someone who considers himself godlike.

Let's hope we see him frog marched to prison yet.

8. Sure he will.
Ever hear the story of the frog and the scorpion? The scorpion needed a ride across the river, so he asked the frog. The frog said no way. "You'll sting me, dude."

"If I sting you in the water, we'll both die."

The frog thought about this and decided it was reasonable. Half way across the river, the scorpion stung the frog, anyway.

"Why? Why did you do that?" gasped the frog.

Said the scorpion: "'Cause that's how I roll, mothafucka!"

14. Why was Rove supposedly told by the boy king not to cooperate with the Inspector General
or the OPR, but then, his lawyer said, "I can say that he would cooperate with the Dannehy investigation if asked."

Luskin told me that Rove had earlier not cooperated with the Inspector General and OPR probe into the firings because "it was not his (Karl's) call... it was not up to us decide." Luskin said that Rove was directed by the Bush White House counsel's office not to cooperate with the Inspector General and OPR.

Attorney: Rove Will Cooperate With DOJ Probes
By Murray Waas - February 2, 2009, 7:08PM

Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, said that Rove, however, will cooperate with a federal criminal probe of the firings being led by Nora Dannehy, the Acting U.S. Attorney for Connecticut who was selected by former Attorney General Michael Mukasey to lead the investigation. Dannehy has recently empaneled a federal grand jury to hear evidence in the matter.

Luskin told me that Rove had earlier not cooperated with the Inspector General and OPR probe into the firings because "it was not his call... it was not up to us decide." Luskin said that Rove was directed by the Bush White House counsel's office not to cooperate with the Inspector General and OPR.

32. Torture is never funny under any circumstance, no matter the victim.

As deserving of severe punishment as Rove(r) may ultimately be, joking about torturing him is unbecoming, and I would hope, a theme that disappears soon on DU. As a DU participant and contributor myself I am embarrassed for those other long-time DU posters who gleefully chime in with these sorts of gratuitous, inhumane comments.

Not just in reference to Rove(r) but regarding all of the despicable perps from the reign of the shrub, but all of the enemies of the working people of the world.

Torture is only retribution/revenge that tarnishes the torturer as much as did the crimes of the victim forever mark him or her.

Thank you!

Why would you take the time to try to piss me off?

Moronic posts, like yours, are an embarrassment, or would be if you had the capacity to think and control your impulse to engage in provocative, juvenile behavior.

Please do put the bong down if it has so addled your mind...

39. No stupider than yours.
Okay, well maybe a little bit stupider. No offense, but you got just a bit too melodramatic for my tastes. Besides, you do know that there is a difference between talking about torture and actually doing it. Maybe you should get off of your "Torture is nothing to joke about" soapbox. You are also assuming that when people talk about torturing Karl Rove, that they are joking. I wasn't joking in his case (or yours).

37. True. It would be more fitting to make him memorize the Constitution
and then recite it live during prime time on all television networks.

With Bush, I think he should read the Goat book aloud (also live on t.v.) while images of the Twin Towers being destroyed appear behind him.
