Gore Beats Colbert, And Other Unseen Grammys
By Roger Catlin on February 8, 2009 11:15 PM

We won't hear the end of this one: The audiobook of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth," read by Beau Bridges, Cynthia Nixon and Blair Underwood, won the Grammy for best spoken word album Sunday, beatuing Stephen Colbert's own reading of his own "I Am America (And So Can You)" and read books by Sidney Poiter, Steve Martin and David Sedaris.

It was one of dozens of Grammy award winners named long before the telecast began on CBS.

Among the others, George Carlin won best comedy album. A guy I actually know, Bill Harley, won a Grammy for best spoken word album for children. "In the Heights" won best musical show album; Peter Gabriel's "Down to Earth" from "Wall-E" best song from a movie, "Juno" best compilation soundtrack, "The Dark Knight" best movie score;

Rick Rubin was named producer of the year for a wide ranging amongt of work, from Weezer and Jakob Dylan to Neil Diamond and Metallica.

11. There will be no joy in Colbertnation tonight.
Stephen should be in top form portraying the
victim to obvious liberal bias.
