Japan scientists identify cancer-suppressing enzyme

Reuters

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Scientists in Japan have identified an enzyme which appears to suppress breast cancer and they hope the finding will spur new therapies to control the second most common cancer in the world.

At issue is the enzyme CHIP, which experts say can stunt cancer growth by degrading a number of cancer-causing proteins. The enzyme occurs naturally in human breast tissue.

In an article published in Nature Cell Biology, the scientists said they injected two kinds of human breast cancer cells into mice. One set carried the CHIP enzyme and the other was without the chemical.

Tumors in the first group of mice with the CHIP enzyme were far smaller than the one without the enzyme, Junn Yanagisawa at the University of Tsukuba's Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences in Japan told Reuters.

1. Pharma company execs are reaching for the aspirin bottle as we speak.
After they calm down the first thing they'll do is try to figure out a way to get a patent or somehow lay claim to the 'cure'.

2. Don't worry, they'll just get the FDA to ban the treatment...
They'd rather have patients on their meds for 20 years and die then to cure them altogether.

3. That's right!
There's all kinds of successful treatments in the way of medicinal mushrooms, herbs, raw foods, etc., for all kinds of diseases and it's so hush, hush! The medical community and Big Pharma are in constant concert to keep the sheeple misinformed of real options!

4. The scientists first found the enzyme in the WTC.
That's why they had to use a series of mininukes to hide the truth.

5. One of the most corrupt practices that needs to be illegalized immediately
is the bonuses that Doctors receive from Pharmaceutical Companies for prescribing their drugs to patients. It creates a huge risk of malpractice as Doctors are concerned about bonus money over whether or not a patient truly needs the drugs in question. I saw something on this a few years back on Dateline where Drug Salesmen go around to doctors lying their asses off about the benefits of the drugs and convincing the doctors that the bonuses outweigh the risks.
