Terror suspect claims torture by way of sex
Fahmin Ansari says an FBI woman tortured him with sex

An alleged terrorist captured in the aftermath of the Mumbai bombings is complaining of the worst kind of intense interrogation tactic: torture by sex.

According to a report The Times of India, Fahmin Ansari, a suspect in the Mumbai attacks that killed 173 people last November, claims he has been tortured by a female FBI agent who forced sex acts on him despite his devout Muslim faith, which forbids sex out of marriage. Because he was devoutly faithful, the sex acts performed by the woman were a form of torture, he alleged.

According to Ansari, the FBI agent stripped him of his clothes and tortured him all night long. Ansari claims the involvement of pornographic movies, and serious foreplay.

His lawyer, Ejaz Naqvi, filed legal papers in Mumbai court, alleging that the “white woman” and two other foreigners sexually abused him, leaving bruises on his private parts.

A Mumbai court ordered medical checks.

Ansari and five other suspects were arrested last year. Police say Ansari has confessed to doing reconnaissance for Lashkar-e-Taiba, the terrorist group that conducted the deadly attacks.

Female FBI officer 'tortured Mumbai terror attacks suspect with sex'
A female FBI officer tortured a suspect in the Mumbai terrorist attacks by performing a sex act on him during interrogation, it has been claimed.

Last Updated: 10:29PM GMT 11 Feb 2009

Fahim Ansari is accused of helping to plan the attacks in which 173 people were killed in November.

His lawyer, Ejaz Naqvi, has filed legal papers with Mumbai magistrate's court, claiming the "white woman" removed all his clothes and showed him pornographic films.

In the papers, he claims that three foreigners, including the woman, sexually abused him, causing him "severe itching and wounds" on his body, including his genitals.

Mr Ansari, a devout Muslim, claims this amounts to torture because it is against his religion, The Sun newspaper has reported.

A court in the Indian city ordered medical checks on "wounds on his private parts and all over his body."

that our government might be using sex as a torture technique or that there's probably already porn about it in existence.

on a GITMO prisonmer, way back in the day. At first, many DUers called it hogwash, but much later news reports proved it to be true. :( IIRC, it involved a woman being sexual with the prisoner, and wiping mentrual blood on him.

Using a persons religious faith to torture them adds a whole other level of disgusting to the torture.

(CBS) The story that Sgt. Erik Saar, a soldier who spent three months in the interrogation rooms at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, tells Correspondent Scott Pelley paints a picture of bizarre, even sadistic, treatment of detainees in the American prison camp.

snip -

He told 60 Minutes about one interrogation in particular, in which he translated for a female interrogator who was trying to break a high-priority prisoner — a Saudi who had been in flight school in the United States.

"As she stood in front of him, she slowly started to unbutton her Army blouse. She had on underneath the Army blouse a tight brown Army T-shirt, touched her breasts, and said, 'Don't you like these big American breasts?'" says Saar. "She wanted to create a barrier between this detainee and his faith, and if she could somehow sexually entice him, he would feel unclean in an Islamic way, he would not be able to pray and go before his God and gain that strength, so the next day, maybe he would be able to start cooperating, start talking to her."

But the prisoner wasn’t talking, so Saar said the interrogator increased the pressure.

"She started to unbutton her pants and reached and put her hands in her pants and then started to circle around the detainee. And when she had her hands in her pants, apparently she used something to put what appeared to be menstrual blood on her hand, but in fact was ink," says Saar.

"When she circled around the detainee, she pulled out her hand, which was red, and said, 'I'm actually menstruating right now, and I'm touching you. Does that please your God? Does that please Allah?' And then he kind of got pent up and shied away from her, and she then took the ink and wiped it on his face, and said, 'How do you like that?'" Continued

9. The menstrual blood part isn't really sexual.
It seems to lend some credence.

But torture is probably never going to sound reasoned or usual.

By it's nature, it is cruel and unusual.

16. on what basis is she identified as an "FBI officer"?
Of course, I can imagine the interrogators having some prostitutes on the side for this purpose, especially considering he experienced "itching and burning on his genitals."

Calling them "FBI Officers/Agents," though, makes it sound so much less believable--and much more "porn-y."

Like, I can't imagine Special Agent Jane Doe saying, "I know how to get to him," or going back home and telling her husband "yeah, so I tortured a terrorist today with my vagina," or something weird like that.

26. this torture might work if the females are extremely unattractive
If they have no sex appeal at all, then I can see how it could be torture. But if their sexually attractive, then I don't get it; that's not torture, that's temptation.

30. But consider that these guys are devout, even militant, Muslims.
Having premarital sex with a woman, or hell, probably even seeing a naked one who isn't their wife, is thought to make them "unclean," and for a person extremely devoted to their faith this can be very traumatic. It's a way of "breaking" the prisoner so that he feels his loyalty to Allah no longer matters.

If they are truly "devoutly religious" How can they justify killing people in wholesale amounts... they can stuff their religion up their collective asses. Not for torture but that is pushing the limits in my book.

40. If the purpose is to seduce him into talking, or make him feel abandoned by his God

Then it's torture. I doubt that it would work, though. Like the menstrual blood case above, it just pisses them off and makes them more misogynistic.

This one doesn't have the ring of being true, though. I think it's a tall tale.
